Mini Browlift vs. Botox for saving money

Look at the Long Term

Botox is an effective tool for short term results and in some people can achieve pleasant results. However, if the brow continues to fall a better choice would be a surgical correction, because results can last for many years. In many patients I prefer a minimally invasive procedure which I call Modified Browlift which has a short recovery (7 days) but lasts for years. In the end this is a more cost-effective approach.

If you have further questions about this, schedule a consultation with Dr. Kaplan.

Bone Structure and Lower Facelift

Do you need good bone structure for a lower facelift to work?

Whenever a surgeon evaluates a face for a potential facelift, bony anatomy is observed. In some instances, if the lower jaw has always been weak adding a chin implant can be very helpful. However, very nice results can still be achieved without implants. Keep in mind, as we age our bones can recede and the mandible (lower jaw) is not immune from this problem.

Schedule an appointment with Dr. Kaplan to see if you’re a good candidate and which procedures would get you the best results.

Concerns about Chin Liposuction

What concerns should you address if you’re considering submental liposuction? What kind of equipment is used?

First of all, the evaluation of your submental area (the area right under the chin) is the most important step. Be less concerned regarding the surgical equipment and more concerned regarding the surgeon. Make sure your surgeon is someone you can relate to and that you trust. As far as equipment goes, although it’s a smaller area than other liposuction procedures, a traditional liposuction machine is adequate to the task that the chin area presents and you will do well as long as the surgeon is conservative and not too aggressive.

Have more questions about submental lipo? Want to know if that’s the right procedure for your concerns? Schedule a complimentary consultation with Dr. Kaplan to discuss this and other techniques to help you look your best.

Is Radiesse Chin Augmentation Possible?

Radiesse can be a good short-term substitute for chin augmentation.

Injectable fillers can be a good sampler for a patient to see what chin augmentation can accomplish. Radiesse is a particularly good filler for this problem. However, results last only about a year and are somewhat less substantial than what an implant accomplishes.

In the long run, since chin implant surgery is relatively easy, economical, and gives permanent results, Dr. Kaplan generally recommends chin augmentation surgery.

Still wondering what the best solution for you is? Make an appointment to talk to Dr. Kaplan about your specific concerns.

How long is the recovery from a Brow lift?

Recovery is usually short after a brow lift surgery.

In recent years, more people are undergoing less aggressive brow lifts. Hence, recovery has become shorter. Most patients can be back at work in 7 days. If a Modified Brow lift is performed, the 3 scalp incisions are hidden by hair and you can shampoo after 72 hours. Some swelling and/or bruising around the eyes is common but resolves quickly. Dr. Kaplan allows moderate exercise after 1 week. For more information, check out Dr. Kaplan’s video on Facial Procedure Recovery Time below or schedule a consultation and have your questions and concerns addressed directly.

Celebrity Nose Jobs: Better than What I Can Get?

Remember, many celebrities have a talent that nets them great wealth but doesn’t necessarily create good judgment. Far too often, we see terribly overdone work on entertainers. A typical patient seeking Rhinoplasty who exercises basic common sense working with an ethical and skillful surgeon giving good advice will have very nice outcomes. And you will pay much less.

Still unsure? Schedule a consultation to discuss your concerns and see which procedure is ideal for you.
